Types of Damp We Treat

Rising Damp

Rising damp occurs when moisture from the ground travels up through masonry by capillary action. Signs include tide marks on walls, peeling wallpaper, salt deposits and a musty smell. We diagnose the cause and install an effective damp proof course (DPC) by injection to stop moisture rising.

Penetrating Damp

Penetrating damp is caused by water entering through external walls, typically due to defective pointing, cracked render, faulty guttering or damaged roofing. We trace the source of water ingress, carry out external repairs and apply internal treatments where necessary.

Condensation

Condensation is the most common form of dampness in UK homes, caused by excess moisture in the air meeting cold surfaces. We assess ventilation, insulation and heating patterns and recommend practical solutions such as extractor fans, positive input ventilation (PIV) units and improved airflow.
